Lately I have become exceptionally interested in the workings of steam locomotives. It is somewhat different from my typical clockwork or other steam-driven machinations. I have joined a restoration team working on a steam locomotive an hour upstate. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience thus far, despite the fact that I spend my days covered in coal and grease.
There is something absolutely heart-wrenching about restoring the gleam to the brass gauges and beautiful old wood.
I have also come to enjoy a band called Vernian Process of late. Below I've linked a video of a song of theirs about a ghost steam locomotive.

I get so caught up in my own work much of the time that I rarely take the time to enjoy what others have done. That's something that needs to be changed. I need to take a greater interest in the work of those around me and remember I don't live in a microcosm.
This little beauty was something that I couldn't resist though. Isn't he lovely?

Last night was the best night we've had so far, the ship is working in peak condition, though it's still a little hard to pilot a seven man ship with only two of us. I need to do a bit of recruiting, but I'm not sure who to trust.
Finished up the computer modifications that I promised a client this morning and I'm really liking the idea of an afternoon nap after lunch. My associate can handle any clients that come in before closing. If he'd just hurry up and get here.
